Project Kathir 2020 is the second installment of our community service project after the success of our pilot project with HEB-Ashram in 2019. Through the pilot project, we understood that regardless of the activities we conducted, the residents’ morale was increased solely via youth interaction. As such, the main aim of project Kathir is to boost the confidence of the next batch of residents through youth interaction, in addition to providing them with an avenue to upgrade their hard skills in order to remain relevant to the ever-changing workforce. Activities such as resume-writing workshops and interview tips and techniques would ease their re-entry into the workforce while other interactive games and goal-setting activities would reiterate the soft skills necessary in any career field.
Through a wide range of activities, we aim to facilitate the integration of the residents into the workforce by equipping them with both hard and soft skills which are transferable in nature, and in the broader context, build the residents’ confidence through our personal interactions with them.
